Being an Adult Does Not Mean You Have Life Figured Out.
I fell down a rabbit hole of medium posts, as I do every day and stumbled up, “I Used to Be Jealous of Pretty Girls Until I Grew Up” written by Nia Simone McLeod, which was inspired by an article entitled, “What Belief Have You Debunked or Changed At Some Point In Your Life?” written by Lucy Dan, as a writing prompt.
I usually don’t’ respond to writing prompts but I found this super interesting, and I decided to make my attempt at a short form article.
Here goes.
What Belief Have You Debunked or Changed At Some Point In Your Life?
I believe that after I turned 18, and became an official adult that I would have everything figured out. From early on, I prescribed to the road where I got good grades, which I don’t regret, and went to college, which I don’t regret.
But when I got to college, I was winging it and didn’t truly know it. All those years in school prior to that had not prepared me to study, manage money or manage my time.
Life is short, and if you’re lucky life is long.
I wasn’t prepared to deal with a chronic lifelong health issue that developed my freshman year.
